glifecycles wedding (old image)Syd and Zelda Levin celebrate 72 years of marriage.

In 1936 Syd met Zelda Waxman at a dance in San Francisco, and on June 20, 1937 they were married. In 1941 they bought a lot in San Mateo, and designed and built their house and moved in. To this day, they are still living in that same house. They have a son, Ken Levin, and daughter Carol Ann Roudman, and another daughter, Linda Lebovitz who passed away in 2006. They have 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Syd and Zelda were both involved with sports all their lives, Syd with his golf and Zelda with her tennis. Together they both won many trophies.

In 1949 Syd built a successful business which became know as the San Carlos Auto Wreckers. He also owned the Carlos Club from 1946-1955.

Over the years, Syd and Zelda have made outstanding contributions to their community. They have been generous supporters of the Jewish Welfare Federation, the Simon Wiesenthal Center, Broadway-by-the-Bay and the Mills Peninsula Hospital Foundation. With their very kind medical donations, the Surgery Center at Mills Health Center in San Mateo now has new state-of-the-art microscopes, lasers and several other high-tech machines. Mills Peninsula has named the eye surgery area of Mills Surgery Center the “Sydney and Zelda Levin Ophthalmology Wing.”

Syd and Zelda will celebrate their 72nd Wedding Anniversary on June 20, 2009.
