Students from Jewish Community High School of the Bay have organized a shesh besh (backgammon) competition for years at Israel in the Gardens. But this year, they’re shaking things up.

“The students really wanted to do something that represents authentic JCHS culture,” said Roni Ben David, director of school activities.

Instead of shesh besh (which was more favored by students who have since graduated), students will organize a trivia tournament based on the popular school club that competes in the Bay Area Academic League.

JCHS students will go up against community teams to answer trivia questions about Israel, Judaism and general topics.

The JCHS team has already won two of three tournaments this year and is eager for a friendly community competition at Israel in the Gardens.
