Two celebrated Israeli musical artists are coming to the South Bay. Israeli singer-guitarist David Broza will perform his flamenco-influenced folk-rock hits at the Flint Center at 3 p.m. Feb. 22, while Eyal Golan and his band play Redwood City’s Sequoia High School at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28.
Singing in English, Hebrew and Spanish for the past 30 years, Broza has made 16 gold, platinum and multiplatinum albums. Although his reputation is as an internationally known vocalist, he also is a composer and peace activist. Golan has been a best-selling artist in Israel since his debut in 1997. His latest CD was certified gold two days after release.
Tickets for Broza are $25 to $50, available through Ticketmaster. There also is $100 premiere seating available through the Jewish Federation of Silicon Valley; contact Elisa at (408) 357-7512 or [email protected]. The event is a fundraiser for the federation and community outreach effort. The Flint Center is at 21250 Stevens Creek Blvd., Cupertino.
Tickets for Golan are $35 to $95; contact Vered Ravid at (408) 530-8243. Sequoia High School is located at 1201 Brewster Ave., Redwood City. A portion of concert proceeds will go to support Warm Homes, a Tel Aviv charity that helps needy children.
