Maxwell Soke Brenner, born June 22, 2007, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2007 at U.C.S.F. Children's Hospital. Max died from Beckwith Wiedemann Syndrome and tracheobronchal malacia. He is survived by his parents, Dr. Serena Goldyne Brenner and Matthew Brenner. Max's grandparents are Gail Sokolow Goldyne and Dr. Marc Goldyne of the City and Drs. Susan and Paul Brenner of Tinton Falls, N.J., and great-grandmother, Helen Goldyne, of S.F. Max is named after his late great-grandfathers, Dr. Maurice Sokolow (and the late Ethel Schwabacher Sokolow) of San Francisco and Max Brenner (and the late Ruth Brenner) of Hazleton, PA. Kenneth R. Kaye in Mountain View on September 15, 2007 at age 63. Beloved husband of Dianne L. Gershuny. Loving father of Eva W. Kaye and Aaron O. Kaye.

Dear brother of Howard Kaye of Shawnee Mission, KS. A member of Congregation Etz Chayim and the Los Altos Kiwanis Club. Past President of the Los Altos Chamber of Commerce, Community Services Agency, Miramonte Mental Health Services (Alliance of Community Care) and Menlo Park Kiwanis Club.

Funeral Services were held at Congregation Etz Chayim and interment took place in Hills of Eternity Memorial Park. Mark Daniel Shek Stern passed away Saturday, July 28, 2007 at the young age of 33. He was a romantic husband, loving father, jovial brother, active uncle and true friend. He is greatly missed. You can read and share stories about Mark at

Leonard (Len) Kopel. At his home in Millbrae on Sept. 26 at age 84. Beloved husband of Lorna Kamens Kopel for 54 years; loving father of Ellyn Daugherty (Paul Robinson), Robyn (David) Torp, Andrew (Cheryl) Kopel, Marla Kopel, Dede (Mark) Nieto, and Stacy (John) Simpson. Cherished "Grandpa Choo-Choo" of 16 grandkids: Jon, Drew, Jenna, Ryan, Alex, Rachel, Sierra, Jake, Jessika, Sam, Adam, Katie, Brian, Justin, Jarrett and Jordan. Len was close to his brother, Leo, and his late sister Mildred, and to in-laws, Marc and Sharon Kamens.

Len was an avid walker, swimmer, and loved tennis and golf and his fabulous Toy Train set-ups. He had a great (dry) sense of humor and loved classical music, reading history, baseball, and playing cards. We will all miss our beloved Lenny Baby.

Many thanks to the kind and compassionate caregivers, Anna and Siu, who provided comfort for Leonard and the family.

Private graveside services will be held. A memorial to celebrate Leonard's life for friends and family will follow on Sunday, Sept. 30.
