An Israeli armor-protection manufacturing company won an international bid to supply the U.S. Marine Corps.

The Plasan Sasa company competed against nine international armament companies for the $200 million subcontract, Yediot Achronot reported. The funds are part of an $8 billion project to outfit the Marine Corps and other U.S. Army forces with mine-resistant ambush-protected vehicles.

Plasan is the third-most profitable company in the kibbutz movement, clearing $180 million in sales in 2006. — jta
