Follow j. on   and

Materials:

DMC cotton #8 (one ball for base, one half ball for each contrasting pattern color)

Size 10 or 11 crochet hook

Directions:

Chain 2.

Round 1: In second chain from hook, crochet 6 single crochet (sc) in chain.

Round 2: 2 sc in each sc (12 sc). Mark end of round and move marker up for each round.

Round 3: 2 sc in first sc, and 1 sc in next sc, continue around to start (18 sc).

Round 4: 2 sc in first sc, 1 sc in next two sc, continue around (24 sc).

Round 5: 2 sc in first sc, 1 sc in next 3 sc, continue (30 sc).

Continue in this pattern until the base resembles a small flat disk and measures the width of three knuckles on your hand when the kippah base is folded into quarters. At this point, sc in each sc until it reaches the desired size, typically at least 4 knuckles wide.

I am looking to crochet a kippah but with a design.  Do you have any free patterns of that nature?
