Music ensembles join together for benefit

Two Bay Area music ensembles, Kitka and Davka, will come together on July 13 for an encore collaboration, "Old and New World Jewish Music," benefiting the Jewish Music Festival.

The women's vocal ensemble, Kitka, will perform traditional Eastern European music, which will be complemented by Davka's modern Jewish instrumental music.

The performance, underwritten by the Kroll Family Foundation, will take place 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 13 at Temple Sinai, 2808 Summit St., Oakland. It also will be taped for public television.
