Betty Flatow 1906-2006 A longtime resident of San Francisco, Betty passed away peacefully on May 12. She is survived by her son, Roger Flatow and his wife Susan, granddaughters Deborah Damon, Diane Pretzer, Karen Flatow, and Leah Rushall, nine great-grandchildren, and many adoring nieces and nephews. Born in Kentucky, Betty moved to San Francisco as a young girl. With her late husband Heine Flatow, she operated a neighborhood hardware store in the Richmond district for over forty years. She was active in the City of Hope, Bnai Brith Auxiliary, and the Leisure League. We will remember her generous nature, her love of parties, and her feisty spirit. She thrived on the attention lavished on her by her large and extended family and will be surely missed by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, donations to the City of Hope are preferred.
