Ann Fischman in Hillsborough on April 30, 2006 at age 85. Beloved wife of the late Jack Fischman; loving mother of William Fischman, Jane and Kevin Dilley and Theresa Rendlich; devoted grandmother of Tovah and Dena Rendlich, Sasha and Aaron Fischman, and Jeremy Dilley; dear aunt of Bonnie Lemesh. Funeral services were held at the Eternal Home Cemetery Chapel in Colma. Contributions may be made in Ann's memory to a Jewish charity of your choice.

Shirley Lerch in Pleasanton on April 13, 2006 at 83 years old. Born in Chicago, she was a longtime Bay Area resident. Loving wife of the late Leon Lerch. Mother of Phyllis (Roger) Wood, and Sandi (Paul) Luce. Grandmother of Joseph Wood, Danielle and Alexander Luce.

Hyman Jack Foreman in San Francisco on April 24, 2006 at 91. Beloved husband of Lillian for 65 years; loving father of Robin (Russell) Brasso, Jill (John) O'Connell and Ronald Foreman; devoted grandfather of Bret (Dina) Brasso, Rachel Brasso, Caitlyn and Jesse O'Connell, Daniel and Kelly Foreman and great grandfather of Arianna and Sofia Brasso; dear brother of Arthur (Birthe) Foreman. An accomplished horseman, bowler, and lover of the game of golf. Born in Chicago, IL he served in the U.S. Army as a Captain during W.W.II, which rank he achieved through his candidacy at O.C.S. "a 90 day wonder." Past president of the Crestlake Drive Homeowners Asso., member of B'nai B'rith, member of Starr King Masonic Lodge #344 F.&A.M., past president of the Mates at Congregation Emanu-El, 38 year member of Lake Merced Golf and Country Club. Funeral services were held Thursday, April 27th at 2 p.m. at Hills of Eternity Memorial Park Chapel, 1301 El Camino Real, Colma. A memorial service followed at the Lake Merced Golf and Country Club, 2300 Junipero Serra Blvd., Daly City. In lieu of flowers contributions to the charity of your choice preferred.

Mimi Michaelson in San Francisco on April 4, 2006, at age 65. Sister of Judy Cree, aunt of Sarah Cree. Born in Washington D.C., raised in Seattle, Washington, she retired several years ago from her position as a senior child welfare worker with the Department of Social Services of San Francisco. She was known for her devotion to the foster children and families she served. Mimi was an avid skier and bicyclist, and friend to many. Services were held at Sinai Memorial Chapel. Contributions in her memory may be made to Congregation Rodef Sholom, 170 N. San Pedro Road, San Rafael, CA 94903, or to a nonprofit organization that benefits children.

Howard M. Oser, 83, passed away in Greenbrae on April 25, 2006. Born in San Francisco May 17, 1922 to Harry J. and Zelda Oser. He was a third-generation Californian and the devoted husband of Louise Oser for 54 years. He was the loving father of James (Jim) and Peter Oser and the father-in-law of Sara and Diane. He adored his grandchildren Carl, Rose, Kenneth and Robert Oser. He was the brother of the late Richard L. Oser and the brother-in-law of Carol Jacobs and Anne Oser. He attended Washington High School and the University of California at Berkeley. During World War II, he served in Italy. Howard and Louise moved from San Francisco to Greenbrae in 1952. In 2005, they moved to The Tamalpais in Greenbrae. For over 55 years he belonged to the San Francisco Downtown Garden Club. He was also a member of the Commonwealth Club, Marin Art and Garden Center Rose Society, and SIRS, Branch 122. He took pleasure in gardening and raising prize roses. An insurance broker since 1947, he was the co-founder of Anixter & Oser Insurance now located in Novato. He was a Director of the Insurance Brokers Association of California and was also a Past President of the Greenbrae Property Owners Association. The memorial service has been held. The family prefers donations to the Buck Institute, 8001 Redwood Boulevard, Novato, 94945 or the American Heart Association.

Jan Pessl Passed away in San Francisco on Feb. 8, 2006 at age 78. Born March 12, 1927 the son of Rudolf and Anna Pessl, who died in Auschwitz during the Holocaust. Devoted friend of Cecilia Bieber and close friend of Klaus Katzki, both survivors of the Holocaust and friend of Joseph Stelzer. Jan also has numerous friends and relatives in this country, Italy, France and Czechoslovakia. Retired from UC as a chemical laboratory scientist. Private graveside services were held at Salem Memorial Park, Colma. Donations may be made to the American Joint Distribution Committee, 711 Third Ave., NY, NY 10017 or charity of your choice.

Renee Sholin in San Rafael on April 21, 2006 at age 85. Beloved wife of Hyman, loving mother of Larry (Orah) Sholin, David (Debbie) Sholin, and Miriam Spencer, grandmother of seven. Born in Vienna, Austria. Served as dedicated nurse in Tel Aviv for fifteen years. She will be missed for her loving care and devotion to family. Services were held at Kol Sholom Cemetery. Her family requests contributions in Renee's name be made to the Alzheimer's Association North Bay Chapter or Marin Hospice.

Anne Weiner passed away on April 26, 2006 at age 83. Beloved wife of the late William Weiner, devoted mother to Lynne Gilmore and the late Jerry Weiner and loving grandmother to Joel and David Gilmore. Memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
