Jewish comics coming to Mill Valley

The third annual "New Jew Revue" is set to return to the North Bay next week, with a lineup of new and established Jewish standup comedians.

Staged at Mill Valley's Throckmorton Theater, the "New Jew Revue" this year features comedians Louis Katz, Jacob Sirof, Moshe Kasher, Sam Arno, Alex Koll, Mo Mandel and Lynn Ruth Miller.

The "New Jew Revue" takes place 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16 at The Throckmorton Theater, 142 Throckmorton Ave., Mill Valley. Tickets: $15. Information: (415) 383-9600 or www.newjewrevue.com.




SF Jewish Film Fest screens in Germany

Peter Stein, executive director of the San Francisco Jewish Film Festival, recently returned from Hamburg, Germany, where he brought a selection of the festival's films to present during the second annual Jewish Cultural Week of Hamburg.

There is little Jewish culture available to Hamburg's Jewish population of some 4,000 people, according to Stein.

Among the films he showed last month were one from the New Jewish Filmmaking Project, and a documentary about Orthodox lesbians.
