Harriet Shifman Gregg. March 12, 1934 - November 5, 2005. Longtime resident of San Francisco, Harriet was born 71 years ago in Detroit, Michigan. She met her future husband and life's partner, Maurice W. Gregg, in her first days as a freshman at the University of Michigan. Married for 51 years, they filled their lives together with a shared love of art, music, travel, food, family and friends. Elegant and refined, yet simple and down-to-earth, Harriet was a complex and private woman. She possessed strength and conviction, was quick with an opinion, but accepting of differences. She opened her life and her heart to a broad range of people and experiences. Harriet will be sorely missed and lovingly remembered by her husband Maurice; her daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly and Philip Davis of Berkeley and Janice and Leonard Roth of Washington Crossing, Pennsylvania; her beloved grandchildren Madeline, Eleanor, Samuel, and Audrey; and her sister Rosalie Gold of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. In keeping with Harriet's wishes, a private service was held. She believed that her life would be best honored by how her children and grandchildren live their lives.
