The Compassionate Listening Project (TCLP) seeks Bay Area participants for its next trip to Israel and the West Bank in November.
One of its participants will be Rabbi Amy Eilberg, former Palo Alto resident and Torah columnist for j.
Participants will listen to Israelis and Palestinians representing a wide spectrum of religious and political beliefs, enjoy home hospitality in each community, spend an overnight with Palestinian families in a refugee camp, learn from reconciliation leaders and have opportunities to come together with Israelis and Palestinians for joint events.
In addition to learning from people on all sides of the conflict, delegates will visit ancient sites that are often hard to reach.
Through documentary film production and conflict resolution trainings, the TCLP helps people to understand the grievances on all sides of the protracted Mideast conflict and prepares citizens to play an active role in Israeli-Palestinian reconciliation efforts.
