Israeli basketball star signs with NBA

jerusalem (jps) | Maccabi Tel Aviv star guard Sarunas Jasikevicius signed a NBA deal for the next three seasons.
The Lithuanian-born Jasikevicius will earn $4 million per season with the Indiana Pacers, Army Radio reported.
His agent said the player was willing to forgo more money and court time in order to play on the U.S. team, with chances of winning the NBA championship.
It will be Jasikevicius’s first season with the NBA.
Last week, it was reported that Jasikevicius was going to play for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Jasikevicius led Maccabi Tel Aviv to two back-to-back Euroleague wins, and twice won the MVP title in the Euroleague. He also won the Euroleague playing for Barcelona.
