Berman, Sally. In San Francisco, April 17. Age 90. Wife of the late Henry Berman, Dante Pareglio, Henry Shapiro and Jerome Smith. Mother of Judith (and Freeman) Mattson. Grandmother of four. Great-grandmother of five. Sister of the late Samuel Sankowich and the late Ida Sankowich Kay. Daughter of the late Charles and Annie Sankowich. Born in San Francisco. A lifelong native of the Bay Area. Father was a talmudic scholar. As a young woman, worked in her mother's clothing business on Market Street. Married to Jerome Smith in 1938. He died at age of 29. Remarried Henry Shapiro who died after a long illness. Married a third time in 1975 to Dante Pareglio, a longtime friend. After 17 years, he passed away. Remarried to Henry Berman in 1995 when she was 81. He died in 2003. An avid sportswoman. Women's club champion at Lake Merced Golf Club several times. Played her last game of golf at age 88 with one of her grandchildren. Enjoyed traveling and playing bridge. Private family services were held. Harris, Matilda "Tobi." In San Francisco, April 15. Age 92. Wife of the late Harry Harris. Mother of Bob (and Ruthellen) Harris, Nan Harris and the late Linda Marlow. Grandmother of Hadar Harris, Rabbi Greg (and Rebekah) Harris, Jamie Harris, Todd Orrin and Christopher Marlow. Great-grandmother of Nicholas, Jonathan and Christina Orrin, and Benjamin and Maayan Harris. Services were held at Hillside Memorial Park in Los Angeles. Donations to Jewish Home for the Aged, 302 Silver Ave., San Francisco, CA 94112.
