Israeli peace activist to give talk in Petaluma
Teddy Katz, a peace activist with Gush Shalom and the Meretz Party, will give a talk 3 p.m. Saturday, April 2, at Elim Lutheran Church, 504 Baker St., Petaluma.
Katz worked for the Jewish Agency in Mexico from 1979 to 1982, recruiting Jewish immigrants for Israel. A $5 to $10 donation is suggested. Information: (707) 869-0266.
Dore Gold to address Santa Clara dinner
Former Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations Dore Gold will be the guest speaker at a dinner celebrating Palo Alto's Congregation Emek Beracha's first permanent home.
The dinner is 6 p.m. Sunday, April 10, at the Santa Clara Convention Center, 5001 Great America Parkway, Santa Clara.

AJCongress honors mayor of Shanghai
Jack Rosen, chairman of the Council for World Jewry of the American Jewish Congress, was in San Francisco this week for an anniversary celebration.
At a gathering in the Asian Art Museum on Tuesday, March 29, celebrating the 25th anniversary of San Francisco and Shanghai being sister cities, Rosen presented the mayor of Shanghai with a plaque honoring the Chinese city for its efforts in helping Jewish refugees who fled there during World War II.
