Brodzinsky, Rena M. In Greenbrae, March 14. Wife of the late Philip Brodzinsky for 56 years. Mother of Hannah Brodzinsky, Richard (and Jacquelyn Bazley) Brodzinsky. Grandmother of Cheryl and Laurel Brodzinsky. Sister of the late Dorothy Averett and Jacob Manes. Aunt and cousin. Resident of San Rafael since 1963. Led the Red Cross volunteers at Hamilton Air Force Base Hospital and Letterman General Hospital at the Presidio. After being diagnosed with breast cancer in 1982, became a volunteer with the American Cancer Society in Marin at the local, divisional and state level. Coordinator of the Reach to Recovery program. Appointed by then-Gov. George Deukmejian to the state's Breast Cancer Board. Funeral services were held at the Chapel at Home of Peace Cemetery in Colma. Heilbrun, Sylvia. In Surprise, Ariz., March 9. Wife of Peter Heilbrun. Mother of Steven and Vicky Ross of San Francisco, Daniel Penton of Phoenix, and the late Michael Ross of Lodi. Grandmother of Barney and Lucas Ross of Lodi. Daughter of the late Ruth and Max Berg of San Mateo. Longtime resident of San Francisco and San Mateo. Member of Hadassah and ORT. Hoerl, Rosemarie. In San Francisco, March 20. Mother of David (and Lynda) Hoerl of Vancouver, B.C. Grandmother of Jordan Spooner-Hoerl. Sister of Hilda Grzymisch of Argentina. Aunt and cousin to many. Services were held at Sinai Memorial Chapel in San Francisco with interment following at Salem Memorial Park on El Camino Real in Colma. Kissinger, Ruth (Visser). In San Francisco, March 15. Wife of the late Max Kissinger. Mother of Miriam and Yvonne Kissinger. Grandmother of Herman Max. Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Loved her dog Lucky. Born in Germany on Feb. 10, 1923. Emigrated from Germany to South America and then to the United States in 1954. Instrumental in the opening of the Jack Tar Hotel. Private services will be held under the direction of Sinai Memorial Chapel. Donations in her name to Parkinson's Institute, 1170 Morse Ave., Sunnyvale, CA 94089.
Weiss, Esther. In Chicago, March 11. Wife of the late Ben Weiss. Mother of Charles (and Barbara) Weiss, Adrienne Weiss and Lynne Weiss of Chicago. Grandmother of Gregory (and Keren) Weiss, Jessica, Ben and Rebecca Weiss. Sister of the late Bernard (and Belle) Lieberman and Vinnie (and the late Gus) Janetos.
