Arena, Betty Jane. In South San Francisco, Nov. 25. Age 74. Wife of Leo Arena. Mother of Daniel (and Heather) Feinberg and David Feinberg. Grandmother of Robyn and Lindsay Feinberg. Sister of Shirley Doscher. Aunt of Lisa, Richard and Michael Mannheimer. Member of the Order of the Eastern Star for more than 45 years. Services were held at Sinai Memorial Chapel in San Francisco followed by a graveside service at Eternal Home Cemetery in Colma. Donations to the Jewish Home, 302 Silver Ave., S.F., CA 94112.

Kirschner, Martha. In Concord, Nov. 23. Age 82. Mother of Susan (and Allen) Finley and James (and Paola) Kirschner. Grandmother of Randy and David Finley and Mathew and Seth Kirschner. Registered nurse for more than 20 years. Member of the Contra Costa Jewish Community Center. Services were held. Donations may be made by planting a tree in Israel.

Megiddo, Hava. In Palo Alto, Oct. 26. Mother of Shirit Megiddo and Avi Megiddo. Sister to Achi Ben Shalom. Wife of Hillel Hachlili. Worked as a program director and case manager for Holocaust survivors in the South Bay. Previously worked as the gallery manager of the Life Tech gallery at the Tech Museum of Innovation in San Jose. Organized sing-alongs and lectures in the Jewish community. Graveside services were held at Alta Mesa Memorial Park under the direction of Sinai Memorial Chapel.

Schein, Joseph. In Walnut Creek, Nov. 25. Age 82. Husband of Regina Schein of 59 years. Father of Rosalind (and Michael) Plishner and Marlene (and Keith) Dines. Grandfather of Alexander and Elias Plishner and Benjamin and Shana Dines. Native of Poland. Holocaust survivor. Immigrated to N.Y. and then moved to California. Chazan of B'nai Israel Congregation in Rossmoor. Former president of Rossmoor Chapter B'nai Brith Men. Volunteer in Rossmoor and the Jewish community. Donations to Mt. Diablo Rossmoor B'nai B'rith Men's Association, P.O. Box 2070, Walnut Creek, CA 94595.
