Mim and Al Simon will renew their marriage vows for their 60th wedding anniversary on Saturday, Oct. 30, at Temple Isaiah in Lafayette. Rabbi Judy Shanks will officiate the renewal. They were married Oct. 28, 1944, in Atascadero.
They are the parents of four, grandparents of 10 and great-grandparents of four. The couple met at the U.C. Berkeley. Al Simon graduated from U.C. Berkeley with a degree in chemical engineering.
He is associated with Right Trac Financial Group. His first business career was in the wholesale toy industry. He founded Simco.
Mim, known as "Bubba Mim," taught preschool at Temple Isaiah in Lafayette.
