President Bush and Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) will light into each other in San Francisco — through proxies.
KQED radio host Michael Krasny will moderate a Jewish-themed debate to be held 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, at the Jewish Community Center of San Francisco, 3200 California St. The debate will pit former Democratic Congressman Mel Levine, who represented Northridge and Reseda from 1983-93, against Republican political and communications strategist Dan Schnur, a U.C. Berkeley lecturer.
Co-sponsors are the Jewish Community Relations Council, the Jewish Community Center of San Francisco, the Raoul Wallenberg Jewish Democratic Club, the Republican Jewish Coalition and San Francisco B'nai B'rith.
Admission is $3 for JCCSF members, $5 for non-members. Information: (415) 292-1299.
