Gilroy congregation honored for outreach
Congregation Emeth of Gilroy recently received its second National Belin Outreach Award in a row, which are given biennially by the Union of American Hebrew Congregations. The awards, named after David Belin, the first chairman of the UAHC-CCAR Commission on Reform Jewish Outreach, go to 10 programs submitted from more than 900 Reform congregations in North America.
The most recent award for Congregation Emeth honored two programs called "Partners on the Path -- A Program for Jewish Partners of Those Exploring Conversion" and "Hand-in-Hand Across the Red Sea -- Kids, Marriage and Family in Jewish/Christian Homes." The previous winner was "A Highly Integrated Full-Spectrum Outreach and Education Program for Small and Very Small Synagogues."
