NEW YORK (JTA) -- Jerry Springer details his parents' escape from Nazi Germany in a new infomercial for his possible Ohio Senate bid.

Springer, the talk show host and former mayor of Cincinnati, will air 30-minute television commercials to raise money for his effort, and is due to file candidacy papers Friday.

The program will air in several cities, but not in Ohio, due to campaign laws.

Lantos sends letter to Egypt and Jordan

WASHINGTON (JTA) -- Rep. Tom Lantos (D-San Mateo) is calling on Egypt and Jordan to "take immediate action" to return their ambassadors to Israel.

In letters to Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and Jordanian King Abdullah, Lantos, the ranking Democrat on the House International Relations Committee, said the return of ambassadors is "overdue" and would be a sign of the Arab states' commitment to progress in Israeli-Palestinian peace talks.

New museum to honor Ohio Jews

CLEVELAND -- The Jewish Community Federation of Cleveland will oversee the construction of The Milton and Tamar Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage in Cleveland.

The Museum will feature interactive exhibits profiling Ohio's 200 years of Jewish history.

The groundbreaking took place on Wednesday and the facilities are expected to open in spring 2005.
