The outreach, Nelson said, is "based on Jewish values of helping the needy, the sick, the stranger and tikkun olam." The community mental health workers -- who speak Russian, Spanish, Farsi and Bosnian -- do outreach, assess mental health needs, provide counseling services, and become the bridge to more in-depth services.
