Think “Rocky Horror Picture Show.” Come dressed as Tevye or another character from the show and sing along with the movie, which will be projected on a big screen in the Hoytt Theater. If you don’t know the words to “Sunrise, Sunset” or “If I Were a Rich Man,” the JCC will provide you with Sheldon Harnick’s lyrics.

That will cover the movie portion of your day. And instead of the usual hotel food, you can eat a vegetarian Russian buffet that the JCC will provide. It will include blintzes, latkes and salads.

And Klezmarin will serenade you.

Tickets are $15 for JCC member adults, $6 for children; $18 for non-member adults, $8 for children. For information, call (415) 444-8000.

If you’d rather just kick back, play Monopoly and eat a potluck buffet, or even go on a hike, head for Mill Valley. The Bay Area Jewish Singles Hiking Club will hold its annual party and hike from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Strawberry Recreation Center, 118 E. Strawberry Drive.

If you live in the East Bay, how about taking your kids to a family day event in your choice of two locations? One will take place at the Judah L. Magnes Museum, the other at the Berkeley Richmond Jewish Community Center.

Both will begin at noon and continue to 4 p.m.

The Magnes, which is located at 2911 Russell St., Berkeley, will provide art projects and tours of its current exhibition, “Telling Time: To Everything There is a Season.”

Visitors also will see two installations evoking Middle Eastern heritage: Greek-American Sophia Tsavalas’ “Ancestral Ascent” and Iranian-American Taraneh Hemami’s “Re-counting.”

Plus, Gerry Tenney and California Klezmer will perform at 2 and 3 p.m.

The BRJCC, which is located at 1414 Walnut St., Berkeley, will present “Princess Moxie Rules!” a 30-minute puppet musical performed by Jennifer M. Levine at 1 and 3 p.m. The story turns the time-tested rules of fairy tales upside down, with a princess who is active and self-confident.

Levine is director of education at Oakland’s Temple Beth Abraham. Gaby Alter of Berkeley will provide the original songs for the show.

For information concerning both events, call (510) 549-6950.
