N.Y. mayor-elect on Israel solidarity trip

"We want to show the Israeli people our prayers are with those who died and their families," he said at a press conference. "We stand 100 percent behind President Bush and the Israeli government and their absolute intolerance for terrorism."

Bloomberg, who is planing to leave late Saturday, has plans to meet with Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, Jerusalem Mayor Ehud Olmert, and possibly with Foreign Minister Shimon Peres.

The group is scheduled to visit the sites of the suicide bombings in Jerusalem and Haifa.

Pataki said he wants to visit the recently reopened Sbarro's pizzeria in downtown Jerusalem and the nearby stretch of Jaffa Road recently temporarily renamed New York Street.

Bloomberg made his first visit to Israel in January.
