Therefore, this year Lehrhaus Judaica will expand its Learning for Life program by adding courses for residents at assisted-living facilities and nursing homes. Underwritten by the Rosenberg Learning for Life Institute, the new Learning for Life at Home program will provide classes in Marin and San Francisco and on the Peninsula.
The next Learning for Life at Home class titled Introduction to Jewish Art will take place in three Friday sessions beginning Nov. 9 and continuing through Nov. 30 with no class Nov. 23. It will commence at 1:30 p.m. at the Jewish Home, 302 Silver Ave., S.F. Cost is $20 for students age 65 and older, $30 for others.
Meanwhile, upcoming Learning for Life classes will include “The Dead Sea Scrolls: An Enduring Mystery” at 9 a.m. Nov. 12, 14 and 16 at Tiburon Lodge and Conference Center, 1651 Tiburon Blvd. Cost is $40.
Also, “From Abraham to Jesus: The World of the Bible” will take place at 6 p.m. Dec. 11 through 13 at Embassy Suites San Francisco Airport, 150 Anza Blvd., Burlingame. Tuition is $40.
And “Jewish Ethics: New Economy, Old Tradition” at 9:45 a.m. Sundays from Oct. 28 through Dec. 16 with no class Nov. 25 and Dec. 2. It will take place at Congregation Shir Hadash, 16555 Shannon Road, Los Gatos, and is free.
