The statement attributes the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon to "hatred of Western values -- not the Israeli/Palestinian conflict." The announcement also condemns "acts of hate to be perpetrated against American Muslims, Arab-Americans or any other religious or ethnic group within our society."
