Lecture topics in Palo Alto: Ruth, Job and Maimonides
by Attorney and Torah scholarNitzhia Shaked will speak on the Book of Ruth at 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9 at Congregation Kol Emeth, 417, The lecture kicks off a monthly series, which will continue through April 28, sponsored by Hadassah-Aviv.

Dec. 2 she will lecture on "The Early Kingdom -- Portraits of Kings Saul and David." Jan. 13 her topic will be "Good and Evil in Jewish Thought -- Selected Texts and Comments."
Feb. 10 "The Book of Job" will be the lecture; March 10, "Selected Social Laws From the Bible and Their Impact on Western Civilization."
The last in the series will be "Maimonides, Aristotle, and Chassidic Movement and Others -- on Divine Providence."
