JVS gets $10,000 for helping jobless
Jewish Vocational Service has received one of the 2001 Chase Manhattan Foundation Awards for Excellence in Workforce Development for helping those with lower incomes obtain and keep good jobs.
The awards, ranging from $2,500 to $25,000, were presented last week in New York. JVS received $10,000 for providing employment services to disadvantaged populations -- such as Russian refugees -- the disabled and those with limited English proficiency.
