Maccabi champs
Israel’s Maccabi Tel Aviv basketball team defeated Greece’s Panathinaikos 81-67 in Paris on Sunday to win the European championship for the first time in 20 years. The win is Maccabi’s third European championship, following victories in 1977 and 1981. Last year it lost to Panathinaikos in the final. In the photo, fans in Rabin Square greet their heroes.
