“We’re hoping that the committee does not come up with operative conclusions, such as sending an international force to the region,” the official said, and added it is unlikely this will be one of the committee’s conclusions, considering Israel’s known opposition to such a move.

The international fact-finding group, set up in November after the Sharm el-Sheik summit, was the only operative decision to come out of the meeting that was actually implemented. Other decisions, including an agreement to put an end to violence, were not implemented.
