BERLIN (JTA) -- Germany's foreign minister reversed himself and admitted that he had attended a 1969 PLO conference in Algeria where delegates backed Yasser Arafat's vow to destroy Israel, according to the Jerusalem Post.
Joschka Fischer is already under pressure to resign over questionable testimony he gave in the trial of a former fellow revolutionary. German prosecutors announced they are investigating whether Fischer committed perjury in his testimony regarding his ex-comrade, who was convicted last week for his part in Carlos the Jackal's 1975 attack on OPEC ministers in Vienna.
