Correction
In a commentary piece in the Sept. 29 Bulletin, Jewish Telegraphic Agency columnist Jane Ulman wrote that California Assembly Bill 2804 had not yet been signed. In fact, Gov. Gray Davis signed the measure, which goes into effect Jan. 1. The measure says statements by those involved in an accident expressing sympathy for those injured or killed cannot be considered an admission of liability in a civil action.
