E. Bay federation welcomes 4 new faces

Teen services provided through the federation's Center for Jewish Living and Learning will be co-directed by new employees Jonathan Emanuel and Ryan Bauer. Emanuel is the former technical director and a co-founder of the new Ramah Day Camp of the Greater East Bay. The Oakland resident will be working with fellow educators in developing Jewish curricula and coordinating weekend retreats for the teachers and students of local Jewish schools. He also coordinates leadership programs for teens.

Co-director Bauer has experience with a broad range of youth issues -- from the development of kindergarten curricula to the study of youth violence in Northern Israel. Bauer coordinates CJLL's Midrashah program, which offers extracurricular Jewish education programs conducted in cooperation with local Jewish schools. A Berkeley resident, Bauer earned his bachelor's degree at U.C. Berkeley and has taught at several area Jewish day schools.
