Group sues supremacists for damages

If the SPLC wins, the hate group -- which calls non-whites "mud people," Jews "children of Satan" and includes Granada Hills JCC alleged shooter Buford Furrow Jr. as a member -- would be bankrupted and have to cede control of their compound.
The trend to sue for civil damages began in 1990, when an Oregon jury rendered the Anti-Defamation League and the SPLC a $12.5 million judgement against Tom Metzger of California for inciting the 1988 murder of Mulugeta Seraw, an Ethiopian immigrant.
