‘Iran 13’ judge stalls; Jews in U.S. amass support

by NEW YORK (JTA) -- After a recent setback in the courtroom, Iranian judiciary officials seem to be stalling before rendering a ve, On June 13, four of the Jews recanted their "confessions," charging that officials had elicited the admissions through coercion.

Now, the judge is reportedly conferring with a fellow judge on the admissibility of the original confessions.

To keep up the pressure on Iran, the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations and the Simon Wiesenthal Center in Los Angeles are circulating a petition in which they hope to collect 1 million signatures demanding the freedom of the Iran 13.
