Arab students riot at Haifa U.
by HAIFA (JPS) -- Hundreds of Israeli Arab students at Haifa University rioted for several hours Tuesday afternoon, blocking a patr, The students clashed with police and succeeded in freeing the suspect for a while, before police took him back into custody.

Police separated the two groups and no violence erupted.
After mediation by Knesset member Issam Mahoul of Hadash and Haifa University President Yehuda Hayuth, the arrested Arab student was taken to the campus security office and questioned by police.
The incident followed a march by Haifa University Arab students protesting the death of Sheiha Abu Sallah, who allegedly died of inhaling tear gas fired by police at a Land Day march in Sachnin last week.
