Lafayette temple to host Bible scholar
by Rachel Adler will be scholar-in-residence at Temple Isaiah, 3800 Mount Diablo Blvd., Lafayette., Adler is the author of "Engendering Judaism: An Inclusive Theology and Ethics," which won the 1998 National Jewish Book Award.

At 4 p.m. Saturday, March 11 she will address "Taking the Law into Our Own Hands: Autonomy, Community and the Possibility of Reform Jewish Law."
At 10:30 a.m. Sunday, March 12 her topic will be "Talking Our Way In: Tools for Reading a Text." At 1 p.m. she will present "What's in a Name? Teaching Children Names of God."
