N.Y. professor to be scholar-in-residence

The theme for the weekend will be "Torah in the 21st Century." Visotsky will speak at 8 p.m. Friday, March 10 on "The Torah: Word of God or Hand of Moses?"
At 1 p.m. Saturday, March 11, he will lecture on "Rabbis as Readers: How the Rabbinic Enterprise Has Kept Revelation Open."
At 10:30 a.m. Sunday, March 12, Visotsky will address "A Sample Study from Genesis: A Dysfunctional Family as Moral Exemplar."
He also will speak on the sibling rivalry between Judaism and Christianity at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 9 at the South Bay Institute for Living and Learning lecture series at Beth David.
