Artists in the show will include Marc Chagall, Yaakov Agam, Alexander Klevan, David Sharir, Shraga Weil and Shmuel Katz.
"You cannot see such a concentration of art anywhere short of going from gallery to gallery to gallery in Israel," said Efi Lubliner, the synagogue's coordinator of the exhibit.
The event is a fund-raiser for the synagogue. Prices will range from under $200 to as high as $7,000.
Safrai, who's going back to Jerusalem after the show, travels around the globe much of the year. His gallery, established in 1935 and the oldest one in Israel, is a family business.
The exhibit, which opened Thursday, is at the synagogue, 74 Eckley Lane. Admission is free, except for tomorrow evening, when a cocktail reception -- from 6:30 to 11 p.m. -- will cost $10.
