E.U. chief says Iran denies Jewish spying

by JERUSALEM (JPS) -- High-ranking Iranian officials are admitting that the espionage charges against 13 Iranian Jews are not true,, "The statement by the head of the Tehran Islamic Revolutionary Court...that there was no doubt about the espionage of the 13 Jew

Hier noted the significance of the split between the Islamic Revolutionary Court and more moderate government officials.

"There are some fundamentalists who are very eager to trump up the charges of espionage, but there are people in the Iranian leadership who recognize that the charges are absolutely not true, and that this was made clear to the president of Austria," he said.
