Bio-ethics confab slated

by Jewish spiritual leaders and medical practitioners will participate in a conference called "Bio-Ethics and Sacred Decisions" fro, The conference will cover such topics as Jewish approaches to fertility issues, end of life issues, the role of spiritual counse

Hosted by the Union of American Hebrew Congregations, the conference will include 15 speakers, such as Rabbi Elliot Dorff of University of Judaism in Los Angeles; Arthur Caplan, director of the Center for Bioethics at University of Pennsylvania; and Laurie Zoloth-Dorfman, director of Jewish studies at San Francisco State University.

Co-sponsors include Hebrew Union College -- Jewish Institute of Religion and the Central Conference of American Rabbis, in cooperation with University of Judaism and Jewish Reconstructionist Federation-West Coast Region.
