Adult classes to start Oct. 5
by Four adult education classes will begin Oct. 5 through the Peninsula Academy of Jewish Education in San Mateo. All classes start, "The Jewish Understanding of God: Visions of God's Presence in the 21st Century" will by taught by Rabbi Alan Berg of Peninsula

"Time for Jewish Art: Create a Mezuzah, Mizrach and Shabbat Candle Holders" will be led by Simcha Greenspan, who leads holiday workshops for the Bureau of Jewish Education. Four classes will continue through Oct. 26. Cost is $45.
"Approaches to the Holocaust: History, Psychology and Religion" also will meet both at Peninsula Jewish Community Center and Temple Beth Jacob. Teacher will be Miriam Zimmerman of College of Notre Dame. Cost is $70.
A second session of three classes will begin Nov. 2 with "Praying, Saying and Swaying" led by Cantor Doron Shapira.
"Holiness in Everyday Life" will be led by Rabbis Amy Eilberg and Nathaniel Ezray.
Lynn Partner, a San Mateo County child welfare social worker, will teach "Spiritual Life Lessons: Discovering and Recovering the Magic and Wisdom of Our Life Stories."
Tuition will range from $40 to $50.
