JFCS gets Mazon grant

by The S.F.-based Jewish Family and Children's Services has received a $10,000 grant from Mazon: A Jewish Response to Hunger., The money is earmarked to purchase supermarket vouchers for distribution to poor, hungry and homeless people as part of the agen

The Los Angeles-based Mazon awarded spring grants totaling a record $1.32 million.

The other Northern California organizations receiving Mazon grants are Contra Costa Food Bank in Concord, Redwood Empire Food Bank in Santa Rosa, Familia Center in Santa Cruz, Food for People in Eureka, California Association of Food Banks in Sacramento, Food Bank for Monterey County and Franciscan Workers of Junipero Serra in Salinas, and Haight-Ashbury Food Program and California Food Policy Advocates in San Francisco.
