Holocaust heirs may sue in California

by SACRAMENTO (JTA) -- California's Supreme Court ruled that heirs of Holocaust victims may proceed with a lawsuit seeking $135 mil, The high court last week refused to hear the argument of insurer Assicurazioni Generali, which sought to overturn a lower court

California Insurance Commissioner Chuck Quackenbush said in a statement, "The highest court in California has brought a measure of justice that has been so long denied, thereby preserving our jurisdiction to promptly address the misconduct of insurance companies against the families of Holocaust victims."
