Auschwitz survivor dies at 100 in Israel
by JERUSALEM (JPS) -- Pepi Schreier, the oldest living Auschwitz survivor in Israel, died here last week. She was 100., Schreier, who was recently profiled in the Bulletin, was born in Galicia and was orphaned at the age of 8. She then moved to Ger

In 1944, she was taken to Auschwitz. Within 24 hours, she was sent to the gas chamber but survived when a mechanism failed.
After the war, she moved to New York. She made aliyah in 1971.
