Aquarian anniversary features meditation, storytelling, dance

by The Aquarian Minyan will mark its 25th anniversary with a week of celebration and learning. All evening and Shabbat events will, The following events are planned:

Follow j. on   and 

*7 to 10 p.m. Sunday, "The Aquarian Minyan's Story: Ancient Roots, Radical Practices and Contemporary Visions." Presentations, open mike for stories, live band.

*7 to 10:30 p.m. Monday, "The Renewal of Jewish Liturgy: Opening the Heart and Liberating the Spirit." A mix of presentations, participatory liturgical prayers, songs and meditations.

*7 to 10 p.m. Tuesday, "Mysticism, Meditation and the Jewish Spiritual Journey: Our Roots in Kabbalah and Hasidut." Presentations, workshops, traditional and modern Chassidic stories.

*7 to 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, "Jewish Renewal: A Renaissance of Art, Music, Writing, Dance and Shpieling." Performances and readings.

*7 to 10:30 p.m. Thursday, "Healing the World: Inclusivity, Tikkun Olam and Gaia Consciousness." Presentations, rituals of remembering, honoring and healing.

*8 p.m. Friday, June 18, community service followed by kiddush.

*Saturday, June 19, Shabbat events. A meditation will take place from 9:15 to 9:45 a.m. with morning services at 10 a.m. Lunch at 1:30 p.m. will be followed by afternoon teachings. A seudah shlisheet meal will take place at 8 p.m., followed by a havdallah and dance party featuring the band Za'atar.

*10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, June 20, "Expanding the Field of Rebbetude: Renewing Judaism into the Future." Presentations and discussion, including a video with Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Shalomi.
