Music series at BRJCC

by The Jewish Learning Center of the Berkeley Richmond Jewish Community Center will present "A Tour of Jewish Music Through the Age, Topics include:

*"Biblical Origins of Jewish and Liturgical Music" by Rachel Brott, cantorial soloist, April 14.

*Golden Age of 15th- and 16th-century Italian Music" by Nolan Gasser, Stanford musicology doctoral candidate, April 21.

*"Yiddish Theater Music," including music of the Holocaust, by Sylvie Braitman, mezzo-soprano and performer, April 28.

*"Contemporary and Israeli Music" by Etty Ben-Zaken and Eitan Steinberg, May 5. Ben-Zaken is a singer and Steinberg is a composer and doctoral candidate in composition at U.C. Berkeley.
