Zalman Bernstein, Wall Street giant, dies

by NEW YORK -- Prominent Wall Street investor Zalman Chaim Bernstein died last month in New York. He was 72., He founded the securities firm, Sanford C. Bernstein and Co., in 1967. It is one of the largest privately owned investment firms

In the 1980s, Bernstein turned to Orthodoxy. He dropped his English name for his Hebrew one. In 1989 he made aliyah.
