A Wider Bridge, the San Francisco-based pro-Israel LGBTQ group, has begun operating in the Midwest with the addition of a full-time program manager in Chicago.
According to an Aug. 5 press release, A Wider Bridge has worked with Chicago Jewish and LGBTQ organizations on programming in the past year, facilitating talks by transgender Jewish educator Yiscah Smith, Israeli LGBTQ organizer Chen Arieli and Israeli film producer Gal Uchovsky.
The new Midwest staffer, Laurie Grauer, is continuing her previous work as executive director of Jewish LGBTQ group Gesher Chicago, which is being absorbed into A Wider Bridge.
A Wider Bridge began in the Bay Area in 2010 and expanded to the East Coast in 2012. According to the website, the organization offers programs that build connections between LGBTQ Israelis and LGBTQ North Americans and their allies.
