From “The Green Prince”

Thrilling film fest opener. The San Francisco Jewish Film Festival kicks off its 2014 edition with a suspense thriller and a party. Making its West Coast premiere, “The Green Prince” is the true story of a Hamas leader’s son who turned Israeli informant. It screens at the Castro Theatre in San Francisco. The after-party at the Contemporary Jewish Museum will include nosh from Memphis Minnie’s Barbeque Joint, Wise Sons Deli and other purveyors. 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 24 at the Castro, 429 Castro St., S.F.  $12-14 and 9 p.m. at the Contemporary Jewish Museum, 736 Mission St., S.F. $65-$75.
